"Like a lot of my favorite Hipstamatic combos, I discovered this one using the 'shake to randomize' feature. The unpredictable light leaks of the Bettie XL lens along with the very different results that are achieved depending on the amount of available light in the shot are why I enjoy this combination."

"O brother, where art thou?"

"This statue of St. Francis is located on the panorama view point of the city of Cagliari. The title was borrowed from the eponymous film by the Coen brothers (which in turn is a reference to another film, 'Sullivan's Travel' by Preston Sturges). Saint Francis, his hand toward his brother the 'sun' seems to say 'O brother, where art thou?'.
The lens Wonder is perfect, soft-underexposure, and the gray-blue tone softens the image, but not to excess. Blanko Freedom 13 is my favorite hipsta-Film because it's clean and has no frame."

"A couple of years ago I was totally in love with my SX-70 Polaroid Camera. I used this precious old-school device in many ways: as a diary, a notepad, a location camera and as an everyday camera for snapshots and street-photography. Every shot was single and unique. Professional Photography went digital about 10-13 years ago, depending on the jobs you were shooting. There was no choice, I needed to join the race. With all this high-tech camera and computer stuff around me, I was very surprised to discover Hipstamatic for the iPhone in early 2010. From the very beginning of using Hipstamatic, I had that 'Polaroid' feeling again. A unique shot, with hardly predictable, fascinating output! I instantly started using my iPhone like my old SX-70, always looking for something to shoot and '#makebeautiful'."

"The beauty of taking pictures with the iPhone is that you have to choose your composition carefully each time. Hipstamatic in particular has a real Polaroid feel about it, because the pictures only come in one format and cannot be changed. Hipstamatic has the charm of the square format that takes me back to the days when I used my Yashica TLR.

Venice has been photographed in a million ways and it is very difficult to take an original picture there. I wanted to interpret these images as if they were taken in 1930. Like old postcards. With the Watts+ D-Type Plate combo I could remove these pictures a little from their time and depict the timeless charm of this city. Venice, in my opinion, only exists in black and white!"

"That'll be us in 20 years"

"The title of this photo is 'That'll be us in 20 years'. This is what my wife said to me, just after I'd taken it. And she's probably right. We were in Ostend to do the 'Marvin Gaye Tour', but as we made our way to the tourist board offices to start the tour, we were distracted by these fantastic kites on the beach. I spotted this couple move towards the little balcony to see the kites and I sensed it might make a good shot. I took a couple of shots as they stood there, a small distance apart from each other. But then they moved together and the man put his arm round the woman just for a few seconds. And I was lucky to catch it. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the composition (ideally I would have got his feet in the frame). But it's often said that the moment is more important than the composition and that's probably true with this. The Hipstamatic combo is Lucas AB2 + Ina's 1982. The Ina's 1982 film is my go-to film but I hadn't used the Lucas lens before. It produces a great combination for summery beach shots."

"As a photographer I use DSLRs but I never leave home without a small camera to capture whatever crosses my way. Never being quite happy with digital compact cameras I was overwhelmed by the potential of the iPhone! Especially Hipstamatic is an outstanding App which soon turned out to be my one and only iPhone Camera!

It brings back that good old analog feeling I had when processing images in the lab in the past... I used to do double exp. and filter and process color and b/w prints manually. So I used to put creativity into my images at the early stages! Now I do just the same thing using Hipstamatic and I am loving the look and the beautiful imperfections. I choose my combos according to my mood - so I love to express myself through Hipstamatic! My social circle mostly know me as the one following at a distance always pointing my iPhone towards strange things or people ;-) And I love it!!!"

"After the Marseille graffiti series, here is a series of photos that serve both as an introduction to the city and an art exhibition. The city, its population and the various subjects are part of 'Marseille-Provence 2013, European Capital of Culture'. A contemporary and historic mosaic, this city is in a constant state of flux while still preserving its history and testifying to that of the whole Mediterranean, with which it is intrinsically linked. I hope you enjoy this initial introduction to Marseille, shot using the Combo Mabel/Pistil."

"As soon as I was able to get my hands on the Tintype SnapPak, I knew I had a combo that I'd be using a lot. The beautiful 'tilt-shift' kind of effect that the Tinto 1884 uses is absolutely gorgeous in almost any kind of environment. It's combination with the D-type Plate film not only makes beautiful black and white portraits, it also produces vintage and nostalgic photographs. On a motorboat from my last trip to the historic Bohol province in the Philippines, I saw an opportunity to use this hipstamatic combo. As the boatman pushes our vessel out of the shallow waters away from the beach, I took a couple of snapshots and produced this photo that looked like it was taken a century ago!
