"This was the first time I went to Venice for carnival. The festivities start with the flight of the angel at the Piazza San Marco, attended by 20000 people!! There are, of course, many tourists but also the Venetians themselves, present for the most famous and oldest carnival in the world. It’s a total blast from the past and, for a photographer, it’s heavenly: the costumes are exquisite. The models, gracefully, pose in the most grandiose décor. I used my regular combo, John S/BlacKeys Supergrain, in order to have an intense Black/White feel. Between the meteorological fluctuations - sun and rain – and the night shots, I was certainly not disappointed!"
