The Basel HipstaPak

By on December 2, 2016

In order to end the year in style, we have a rendezvous with Hipstamatic in Switzerland, more precisely, in Basel, the country’s third largest city, going by the population. Basel is known for its colorful carnival, for Baselworld, an annual fair dedicated to watchmaking and jewelry and, of course, for Art Basel, the most prestigious annual contemporary art fair in Europe. More importantly, though, this Basel HipstaPak is an homage to Swiss design in general: innovative, minimalist and graphic.

The Basel HipstaPak consists of a lens, Müller, and a film, Frutiger; the latter being the dominant element of this pak. Essentially a black-and-white film, it does add some monochrome colored blocks to your photographs. I haven’t had the opportunity to test the Basel HipstaPak, but I assume that shaking your iPhone will allow you to modify the geometric motifs of these color blocks.

The lens, on the other hand, emphasizes the general contrast.

So… Go play!! And don’t forget to tag your pictures with #hipstography, as there are a few more spots available for the 2016 Awards!
