"The temporary perfection of a flower is made all the more exquisite by the beauty of its decay. Hipstamatic amplifies the textures and colours of the floral lifecycle. Many of these images were taken in a period of mourning for my father who died recently after a long illness. Without lights or a proper studio set-up I took them in the kitchen window in the grey light of winter mornings."

"Hong Kong, I was told upon arrival, is a city of contrasts. It did not take long before I understood what that meant. Taking a very modern elevated walkway and catching an efficient train that transported us out to Lantau Island, to see the traditional stilt house fishing village, Tai O was my first bit of education. Later, needing a bit of medical attention, I made my way to a modern pharmacy and found traditional herbal medicine being dispensed as well. To fulfill some souvenir shopping, I found myself in a super mall (one of many) and later in the day, surrounded by hawkers at markets specializing in jade, birds, fish and even fortune telling. The next day we toured the Chi Lin Nunnery. At first glance a Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) masterpiece, only to learn it was less than fourteen years old and a perfect replica. A soothing cruise around Victoria Harbor, ringed with exceedingly modern buildings, in a traditional junk boat topped off the trip. Hong Kong is a magical and mysterious place with elevated walkways and ancient stone streets; bright sun and hazy days... It is a place that stirred my imagination and soothed my soul. It is a place I won't soon forget."

"Most of these photographs were taken during an iPhone workshop with the talented, intuitive and amazing teacher Karen Divine. Four other women and I were led by Karen on visits to old and new Delhi, Rohet Garh and Narlai outside of Jodphur, the holy city of Varanasi, and the Taj Mahal. Guiding us collectively and individually to capture our experience through our iPhones we each gained a beautiful perspective on the people, their culture and their way of life. We were welcomed in homes, joined a wedding celebration, visited markets and festivals, capturing images that will forever tell a story of this amazing journey."

"After obtaining my Diploma in Film and Fine Arts at HKAPA (Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts), I went on to major in Cinematography/Lighting Design, graduating in 2002. Barely a year later, I started working at RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong) as Director of Photography. My first short film 'Weight Of Light' was an official selection at the Hong Kong Lesbian & Gay Film Festival 2007. In 2009, I was enlisted as the director of photography for a co-produced (NHK & RTHK TV) two-hour drama, shot in Hong Kong and Japan.
My first photo exhibition 'Tell Me How Not to Think About Her' was at Fringe Club Hong Kong in 2010. In 2012, four featured photographers, including me, set up the 'PHOTO NOWG' group. The principles of 'Photo Now' include using documentary snapshots, exploring each corner of the city and recording every special moment.
I started taking iPhone photographs a year ago and six months ago I fell in love with Hipstamatic for street photography. I hope to highlight a new approach to photography, through my participation in 'The Underground Scene 2012' exhibition. Right now, I am preparing my first feature length film 'Messiah'."

"I’ve been using Hipstamatic from the moment I got my first iPhone, early in 2011. It is a very powerful photo application and beautifully incorporated in the brilliant iOS. I don’t have a favourite combo. I believe the feeling in each photo should reflect the photographer’s mood and emotions while taking the photo, and if you know what you can get from Hipstamatic, it is quite easy to find the proper combination, at the proper time. I love to experiment so I am using Oggl too, because I think it is a great tool also for this purpose.
In Slovenia, where I live, we don’t have big cities, wide parks, high buildings… It’s a small country and it takes only three hours to drive the longest distance between borders by car. Nature here is wonderful. We say that our country is a pearl on the sunny side of the Alps. I live very close to one of Slovenia’s natural resorts, Triglavski Narodni Park and I travel there whenever I can. It has a special energy and many of us believe that some parts are inhabited with fairies and goblins.
To present it’s beauty, I have chosen a collection of photos, catching the feelings and mood of this magical place in different seasons."
