\"The title of this series, \"Pile Poil\" refers to one of those untranslatable French expressions meaning \"on point\" or \"on the mark\". \"Pile\" comes from \"heads-or-tails\" when tossing a coin and \"[au] poil\" is attributed to the XIXth century portraitists who were meant to reproduce the faces of people \u201cwithout a hair (poil) out of place\u201d\u2026 The fusion of both indicates a notion of extreme precision.
