\"Awards-Nominees-2017\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It\u2019s with tremendous pleasure that we will be revealing, from today and over the following two weeks, the list of nominees in this fifth edition of the Hipstography Awards. The list has been drawn up on the basis of the votes cast by the members of the jury and I would, once more, like to thank them with all my heart for having devoted some of their time to these Awards. It is now up to you to give your opinion; your votes will be added to those of the jury to select the overall winners of the 2017 edition.<\/h4>\n

Like previous years, the Hipstography Awards<\/strong><\/em> have been divided into two main categories: the \"Grand Prizes Awards<\/strong>\" for the Combos and Portfolios and the \"Major Prizes Awards<\/strong>\" for the Photos of the Day. In brief, this is how the nominees have been selected. We\u2019ve observed the same principle as we did in the past editions: we went through the hundreds of series and photos published on the site in 2017 or received during the submissions in the thirty or so categories; for each category, we asked each jury member to give us their top 3. Three points were awarded for their favorite series or photo, 2 points for their second choice and, lastly, 1 point for their third favorite. All the points were then added up and we whittled it down to just 5 or 6 series for the 11 Grand Prizes Awards<\/strong> categories and ten or so photos for the 19 Major Prizes Awards<\/strong> categories.<\/p>\n

We won\u2019t unveil the jury\u2019s verdicts but, as is the case every year, there were a few outstanding series that almost unanimously caught every single jury member\u2019s attention and votes. For other series, even if they were favorites, the results were less decisive. We are therefore counting on you to cast your votes and identify the winners.<\/p>\n

Over the next days, the nominees in each category will be announced on this page, as and when the results come in, and the voting can then start. You can bookmark this page, which will be updated on a daily basis; this same page is also accessible via the banner at the top of each page on the site. One small clarification: the order of nominees is not linked to the jury's votes. The combos are classified in order of publication and the portfolios and photos will, at times, be published at random. You have three days to vote for each category and your votes will be added to the jury's. One last category, \"The Gear of the Year<\/strong>\", is intended to give Awards for the most outstanding gear (lenses, films and flashes) from the Hipstamatic<\/strong> catalogue that came out in 2017.<\/p>\n

You will then have to be patient and wait until the beginning of February to find out who the winners are. They will be announced during the Grand Ceremony. Without any further ado, here are the nominees of the Hipstography Awards 2017<\/strong>. May the best win!<\/p>\n
