"I’ve been using John S since I discovered Hipstamatic, in 2011. Shortly thereafter, in 2012, I organized a big exhibition in Porto - Portugal, with about 70 Hipstographers from all over the world. It was an exhibition with more than 200 photographs and included the publication of a book: "Hipstagraphies - Hipstamatic International Exhibition Portugal - Porto May 2012"
At the beginning of 2018, I started working on a project for an exhibition, to be held in 2019. For this project, I used Hipstamatic with a single combo: John S with US1776 and the JR2x flash. The strong contrast, with its intense blacks and a vintage touch granulation, creates the perfect environment for my purposes. On a recent family trip to Italy, I decided to use this same combo for views of the 3 cities we visited (Milan, Verona, Venice). Here are some of the images I made with this combo, during that trip."
