By on janvier 27, 2016

Combo #355 (Valery Hache)

Lens:  John S
Film:  BlacKeys SuperGrain
Flash: off

"So, there we go: the 68th Festival de Cannes is over. And let it be said that, for quite a few of us, it will take some time before our feet touch the ground again! The highlights of the last week included the attendance of a number of top models such as Natasha Oly, Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes, to name but a few… and, of course, the AMFAR party which took place at the Cap d’Antibes, in the notable presence of Leonardo di Caprio. This is of course a cinema festival, so the best of the best showed up in all their glamour: Nathalie Portman, Sean Pen, Charlize Theron, Gerard Depardieu, Naomi Watts, Isabelle Huppert etc…
As far as Hipstamatic shots go, I was confronted by a rather difficult light issue due to the crushing heat that reigned during the Festival, but BlacKeys SuperGrain combined with the John S lens, saved the day! I can only say that I’m already waiting impatiently for the next edition!"

Valery Hache

Combo #358 (Vytautas Ambrazas)

Lens:  Americana
Film:  BlacKeys SuperGrain
Flash: off

"I’m drawn to street photography because it is unpredictable and spontaneous. Quite a few things have to come together for a visually interesting photograph. It’s like a hunt of some sort or as Forest Gump’s mama used to say 'Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get'."
Vytautas Ambrazas

Combo #360 (Deep Ghosh)

Lens:  Madalena
Film:  US1776
Flash: off

"Up close, Kolkata is just like any other urban space, crowded and impersonal. But sometimes, I find it intensely intimate, its dirt and grime becomes the emotional bond of a relationship that has been forged since my childhood. Sometimes it seems necessary to explore the realities of this monochrome city, away from the bright colourful sentiments, it has a base and gloomy personality and it moves me beyond anything else. These are the intimate moments from my emotional bond with my city, my first love."
Deep Ghosh

Combo #401 (Patricia Truchsess)

Lens:  Bruno
Film:  BlacKeys 44
Using: Oggl

"To capture these perfect silhouettes, I chose this combo because BlacKeys 44 has a nice warm touch and Bruno adds contrast to the monochrome motives."
Patricia Truchsess

Combo #415 (André Feltes)

Lens:  John S
Film:  AO BW
Flash:  Standard

"This series was made during my daily commutes between the train stations of the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre (Southern Brazil). I like to photograph the humans moving through the exits and entrances of the stations, and its surrounding areas, as well as its architecture.
The combo John S/AO BW is great for those who want a strong and accurate record in black and white, and the light leaks from the shadows, resulting in a chiaroscuro that shows and hides the passage of people and rewrites this architecture.
"
André Feltes
