"Looking for a moody monochrome combo, suitable for recording street life scenes and the urban landscapes of Athens, I ended up using this one. I gave Sergio - an “Italian” lens notorious for its intense blurriness - a different role, minimizing its effect. In this way the blurriness is not distracting at all; quite the opposite, it adds a quite interesting, imperceptible glowing texture to the image, while the various levels of the weak wintry light are captured satisfactorily. The old Claunch72 film was preferred over other black and white films, as I realized that its marked monochrome palette fits perfectly within the spirit of the historic metropolis, resulting in pictures with an essence of old times. The use of the Triple Crown flash offers, in this case, a more dramatic feeling, creating a notable contrast and deeper shades."
