"On a previous trip to Hanoi, Vietnam I had decided to photograph the atmosphere of the communist capital using the Libatique 73/Ina's 1935 combination which gave a desaturated, hazy and vignette effect which suited the place really well. For this trip to Ho Chi Minh City I wanted to highlight the difference between these two cities with HCMC's more westernized feel with it's modern high rise sky scrappers and expensive fashion stores. To achieve this effect I used the G2 lens which gives a very sharp strong contrast and the Blanko Noir film which has a more neutral colour palette. I think this combination gives the city a more positive outlook compared to it's northern counterpart."
