"I awoke my second morning in Manhattan to the news of a freshly released HipstaPak, and as is my custom, I quickly downloaded the newest Hipstamatic offering to both my Hipstamatic Classic and Oggl. Being as I was already somewhat familiar with the possibilities available with BlacKeys XF - and admittedly not wanting to shoot in monochrome during my day's walkabout - I decided to experiment with the latest lens the San Fran wizards had cooked up.
Florence is, in a word, delightful. Contrast is not sharp, but muted tones are brought to life with a delicate golden glow. Coupled with the simple, yet elegant, black border of the DC film, it made for a wonderful pairing. Admittedly I did not shoot exclusively with this combination for the next several days, but the images that I did make with this pair captured more than the scene at hand. More than images, they carry the feeling and tone of pleasant memories. Not intense, not life-altering... But just a brief glimpse of a moment when everything was just right."
