"Varanasi or Benares, is one of the world’s oldest cities, and somehow it still retains its historic charm. The city is a living relic, where the river Ganges provides that stark contrast of an ever-changing stream. Whenever I’m in Varanasi, this diversely populated and curiously peaceful city, it has always provided me with interesting subjects and situations. This time I wanted to try the Colaba HipstaPak (Ray Mark II Lens, Irom 2000 Film) pack and the result was fascinating. Colours that seemed to have faded suddenly popped, while others became more washed out. Inspired by Indian cinematography, this combo is reminiscent of "Joy Baba Felunath", one of Satyajit Ray’s masterpieces set in Varanasi, a film that has always fascinated me. So, when Hipstamatic introduced the signature Ray Mark II lens, I decided to try it in that one place that would complete the circle."
