"July in San Diego, California means Comic-Con. It originally started showcasing comic books in the 70s and has exploded into the largest convention of its kind with vendors for comic books, toys, TV, film and similar popular arts. The convention attracts people that love to dress up or "Cosplay" as their favorite characters, heroes, etc. That is what I like to take photos of and this year I thought I would use the John S lens and Robusta film. This combo reminds me of the vibrancy of comic books. Although the shadows are dark, the colors where light falls get really intense. I especially like it when there is red in the picture because the contrast with the green tint makes it really vivid. I also like to use Robusta for it’s thin white border with a slightly used, gritty edges."
