"Shadowy, smoky and warm are probably how I'd describe the Madalena lens. I've not used it often but, I paired it with Rijks on my recent trip to Portugal and I like the results. I think the Rijks film brings clarity and gives the Madalena shadows more definition.
During my short trip, I enjoyed looking for light/shadow contrasts, as well as a 'pop' of color to break the Madalena 'murkiness'. Portugal is a beautiful, diverse place with no shortage of inspiration. I found myself using this combo to highlight the interaction between people and their surrounds (architecture)."
