"I used the Polaroid SX70 for a long time, and later the plastic Holga, both of which produce square pictures, are fast in execution and both producing immediate results. As analog photography is becoming increasingly more expensive, rare and difficult to operate, I’ve rediscovered the joy of instant photography with Hipstamatic. It really is an incredible tool, offering the same freedom of these old snapshot cameras, easy and equally rich in its possibilities: lens/film/flash.
I called this series 'Blue Words', as the song goes 'images are words spoken by the eyes'. The images are silences. It’s hard to find words to describe these pictures. They shouldn’t even be accompanied by words. An image is a mystery. In any case, in my opinion, the combo Helga Viking + Ina’s 1982, heavily blue-tinged, lends itself perfectly for this Mediterranean atmosphere, where the blue sky and sea wash over you like a dive in the ocean."
