"Every year, for a fortnight, Cannes lives the ultimate dream. It hosts one of the major film festivals in the world – possible the biggest, in fact – but, in any case, the most demanding. A kind of electric commotion takes over the Croisette, all the way to the red carpet and its famous steps. I tried to capture these moments. It’s a bit of a shocker watching the tourists walk back from the beach against a backdrop of extreme elegance, with men in black tuxedos and women in long evening gowns. Fans are held at bay by barriers, in a desperate attempt to see or photograph one or the other personality. Disguised film fanatics.
While doing an interview, I find myself snapping a picture of an actor, an actress or a director I really like, and immortalizing a magical moment for myself. I don’t have film but I do have my favorite combo: John S, BlacKeys Supergrain to help you imagine the 'celluloid dream'. Enjoy!"
