"This photo was taken in western Washington’s Skagit Valley at the height of the tulip season. There was an ominous thundercloud building overhead, but, the sun broke out for just a few minutes at this time. At first I thought the petals had fallen naturally as there had been hail the day before and heavy rain earlier in the day. But, as I was pretty much lying in the mud to take the pic, I could see the stems had been cut - I was very touched."
