"This short series stands by itself. It was made during a two day historical event, where actors play out the battle of Ruigenrode. I always try to shoot my photos as if they were paintings. Here, I was thinking along the lines of the historical battle paintings mixed with realism from the time of Gustav Courbet. And I love it."
