"After a half century in Chicago, last July, I relocated to San Francisco. I have traveled the World during my career as a photojournalist, but I had always resided in America’s Midwest. Chicago was a wonderful place for street photography, but I have found San Francisco to be a much more vibrant and bustling city. There is a lot more room to breathe in 'The Windy City' and the people tend to be more conservative, while, on the other hand, SF is compact and crazy. For me, street photography is all about layers and in 'The City by the Bay', everything and everybody is stacked on top of each other.
Another plus for San Francisco is the amazing light. With fewer skyscrapers than Chicago, there is a lot more sunlight to play with in SF. Despite its smaller size, there are still many more places in San Francisco that I have yet to explore and photographically exploit."
