"The picture was made on a rainy day at Dee Why beach, on Sydney's Northern Beaches. The actual subject of the image is the surfer, who was stretching in the background - who I was only looking at out of curiosity initially. The frame came together when the man listening to his iPhone walked past my POV and I took the exposure, managing to capture the background subject in full stretch and the foreground walker in a dominant centre position within the frame."
