Photo of the day by Arjan van der Horst

Lens:  Jane
Film:  Robusta
Flash: off

"This picture was taken in the early morning hours at the Bastion Hotel, near the Amsterdam's Schiphol airport. The hotel lobby was full of enlarged pictures from the early days of our national airport. Enlargements of old planes like the DC-3 fill the walls. Except in a smaller room in the back. There were no aviation-oriented pictures there, only pictures of national athletes. The swimmer made an odd contrast and seemed to be swimming right through the wall. Since I had some time to spare I took my iPhone and made this picture using Jane lens, Robusta film and no flash. I chose this combo because I wanted to photograph this wall as natural as possible, not loosing the impact of the swimmer by using odd lens flares or other effects. "
