"My photographic year always begins with a train ride down to Coney Island to participate in the ritual, New Year's Day cleansing of dashing into the Atlantic Ocean. People come from all over just to plunge into the ocean. Many wear costumes and many put on performances. This gentleman liked to turn things upside down. Since 2016 turned the world upside down, what better way is there to begin the new year than by changing your perspective."
