"I'm a curator - technically an art curator - by profession, but I work in a history museum these days. I both love and hate the elevation of The Object within an art museum. There's something intense about being able to examine an object and say, look - this is unique, astonishing, a masterpiece of its kind in this or that regard. But we take that to absurd heights too frequently.
I like beautiful things, well made things, as much as the next person, but - it's always good to have a little reminder around that none of this is permanent. You can't take it with you, so don't get too caught up in it."
