"Basaltic rock formations rise out of the desert landscape east of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. This area overlooks the Columbia River Gorge and to me feels reminiscent of the American Southwest - with big blue skies, boundless vistas and the smell of desert sage in the air. I thought this combo would work well to bring out the western flavor to this area."
