"The mask in the picture is a 'splinter' mask used by tank crews in WW1 to avoid wood splinters from blinding them during strikes to their tank. It is in the WW1 Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.A. ,which is the only museum in the United States dedicated only to WW1."
