"Scanno is a small town in the Abruzzo region. It was the most photographed village in the '50s and '60s by great photographers like Henry Catier Bresson, Gianni Berengo Gardin and Mario Giacomelli. But even before the photographers, there were painters and engravers who captured the local women's beautiful costumes. Today, you can easily arrive in the village with a camera around your neck and not be considered a 'paparazzo'."
