"Phone chess"

"While exiting the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco, I was intrigued by the chess board looking squares that covered the atrium floor. I noticed a staircase that gave an excellent overhead view of the floor and wandered up there.
From that angle, I saw that many conventioneers were using this area as a place to talk on their phone or check emails. I spent 15 minutes working the scene and waiting for a group of people to come together to create the illusion of a chess board."
