Photo of the day by Stavros Dimakopoulos

"The 'Evzon', a member of the Greek Presidential Guard with his unique traditional uniform, stands in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma square, in the heart of Athens. On the retaining wall of the background are inscribed two quotations by Thucydides, from "Pericles' Funeral Oration" and the names of battles and wars fought by the Greek army throughout history. Unexpectedly, a pigeon which was flying near the Guard found it's way into my photo.
The warm mood of the sunny July day, was well captured with the Buckhorst H1 Lens, which minimized a lot the rough canvas texture effect of the DreamCanvas Film."
