"What is more symbolic of the magic of childhood than red slippers, or the jump across a puddle, or that time you were walking through the cold, dead earth, covered in grey and grain, and there was only Dorothy, or Red Riding Hood, or Alice, or your mind and your daughter, right at your feet, waiting to remind you of what stars look like in bloom, if only you knew where to look?
Immediately before this photo was taken the sound of school bells was heard, and, as you know, every time we hear a bell, an angel gets her wings, and proceeds to walk out of our lives and our photographs forever.
