"These images were born in response to a challenge set by the Hipsta365 Facebook group to create a series of 12 images. I take a lot of photos of flowers, which I rarely share, so they were an obvious choice of subject for me.
I love flowers, particularly single stems. I usually shoot them against a plain background to create negative space in which the flowers can take centre stage. My photos are mainly bright and bold in colour, and so I avoid lenses such as Madalena, which I’ve found tricky to work with in the past. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the effect it gave here - quite different to my usual style."
