A New Hope
There’s a new Cinamatic update of which I’ve written an article that you can find on Cinamatography. In short, the app now makes the best of everything that iOS 8 offers and it’s now possible to control the intensity, contrast, saturation and brightness of the applied filter. I’ve had the opportunity to test out this 1.5 version, over the past few days, and it immediately hit me that the new iOS 8 would undoubtedly also affect Hipstamatic Classic.
In an interview, Mario Estrada announced that the team was working on a new Classic update (#300) and, even if nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet, I am convinced that the app will be positively affected by the new iOS. And that’s where a dream might just come true.
I, personally, only use Oggl to test combos; Hipstamatic Classic is still my preferred means of shooting. I love the interface, the practicality and, above all else, the feeling that you’re using a real camera. Apart from being able to modify combos, I only ever saw the true benefit of Oggl in the option of manually adjusting the exposure.
I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but I’m confident that it will soon be entirely possible to fine-tune the focus, exposure, white balance or the ISO sensitivity in Classic. And that, dear friends, would be a genuine transformation! Imagine the possibility with these new parameters. A few more weeks of patience… The future is looking pretty bright, if you ask me!
