Stand Up To Cancer GoodPak
And here’s a little surprise package to celebrate the month of June: a new Pak! This isn’t the usual First Friday pak, but a GoodPak, specifically designed to support a charity, and in this case, it’s "Stand Up To Cancer". June 7th is "National Cancer Survivor’s Day" in the US, saluting all those who are dealing with cancer, whether they have been cured or whether they are still battling the disease.
Hipstamatic has joined arms with "Stand Up To Cancer" and is releasing a GoodPak to draw the world’s attention to the ongoing war against cancer. The honorary guest is Victoria Will.
Victoria Will started her career as a photographer for the New York Post and many of her pictures have been published in the most reputable magazines in the world. The public at large, however, only noticed her work at the 2015 Sundance Festival, where she is a regular participant. At that time, Victoria Will immortalized a number of actors using the Ferrotype technique, invented in 1852 by the French photography pioneer, Adolphe-Alexandre Martin. You’ll find a video at the bottom of this page about this technique; although, this GoodPak is in no way related to the technique in question.
The "Stand Up To Cancer GoodPak" contains a lens, the Victoria and, a film, the Stand Up. Victoria is rather neutral lens, perfect for those who prefer pictures without any newfangled effects. The film has a gold border, which shows up randomly, either at the top or the bottom of the picture.
Hipstamatic suggests you make portraits of the people you know, who have been affected by the disease and adding the hashtag #ISurvivedCancer to your pictures! Let’s make some noise!
