"According to an Indian belief, taking photographs of living things is stealing their souls. I prefer to believe all these moments I capture are not stolen but borrowed from life. When I find beauty, poetry or meaning in a specific moment, I try to capture it and give it back to the world in a new form.
Istanbul is one of the most inspirational cities in the world. Simply by going out of your house and wandering the streets, you can smell the centuries of heritage accumulated since Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman times. Even daily life has its own charms in Istanbul. Watching the ferries leaving and arriving, carrying crowds of people, the smoke they leave behind, seagulls flying around them is a beautiful composition on its own, created again and again everyday. Living in such an inspirational city, recording daily life and the moments I witness is a sheer joy for me."
