"I have been photographing this marvelous tree for five years now. It is on the Big Island of Hawaii and the only clue as to it's age, is a house from the late 1800's that stands on the same property. The Monkey Pod tree is semi-deciduous and when we arrive in early March, there are no leaves. As the days go by, it slowly begins to leaf out and by mid-April, it has fully opened."
