"I did not choose to become a street photographer; street photography chose me. Born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, I moved to the US when I was 17. I developed an interest in photography ever since I took classes in college but the responsibilities of running a home and my own business kept me from pursuing it further. I rediscovered my passion two years ago when I was invited to attend a photowalk in Soho, NYC. I was astonished by what I had captured with my iPhone. Thus began my journey of documenting vibrant street scenes.

Because I work a lot, I tend to take pictures in the subway while going to and from work. Otherwise, I shoot with friends while participating in photo-walks. I capture candid moments by taking 10 to 15 shots of my subjects and pick the ones that really speak to me. I consider myself a stealth photographer because I like to pretend that I am either lost or looking for something I dropped on the ground in order to capture that perfect moment. Another secret? I carry a snack in the same hand as my iPhone in order to hide the device! The only time I ask for permission is when I shoot shoes, legs or dogs just because I have to get down on my knees and don't want to look creepy. People always respond positively because I compliment them or tell them that I am a photographer so they let me take all the shots that I want .

I currently participate in several photo walks organized by Instagram, Made in NY, and some photography workshops. There are a few locations that I love to go to, including Union Square Park, Washington Square Park, and Coney Island. Parades are also great places to take pictures. All of these locations provide unique scenarios, interesting crowds, and great ambiance to capture some amazing images."
