"I was on my honeymoon cruise in May. The boat held approximately 6,000 passengers and I think most of them were at the pool that day. I looked around at all of the people, towels and bathing suits - everything created such a colorful pattern and texture. It screamed Watts/Big Up combo!"

"The entire protest started because of the government's decision to develop on the historical Gezi Park which is located in the very centre of Istanbul, Taksim Square. Most of the crowd consisted of the leftwing political supporters but we know that there were more than 800 different groups (different backgrounds, ideologies and religions) as well. The movement to protect Gezi Park is one of the most popular and high profile protests in the world. There are still huge number of people in Gezi Park trying to resist and protect their democratic rights.
Unfortunately last night (June 11th, 2013) all the protesters in Taksim square and Gezi Park faced the toughest of police interventions. My photographs show the battle of the Turkish people in the face of a violent state reaction."

I like the human element of pictures, and where possible I always try to include a human element in my photographs. I enjoy photographing my city, and take part in Instameets, promoted by InstagramersRio. I end up getting to know my city more and learning to photograph it very well. I also like taking photographs of my friends. Despite the fact Rio de Janeiro is a tropical place and very hot, 43º in summer, I love shooting with the Combo Wonder + Blanko Freedom13 because it leaves a melancholy air, the colors or absence of them, always reminds me of autumn weather."

"These panels with a whole series of blurred people painted upon them mask the entrance to a derelict supermarket in the centre of Brussels. As people walk past, they often don't even look or notice them. This woman was walking past briskly, and in doing so she becomes an integral part of the picture. The out-of-focus quality of Tinto 1884 and the black and white of AO BW further accentuate this impression."

"I'm always ready with my Hipstamatic but at the Club I'm always thinking about how I'm going to take different stuff, more than just underwater shots. But the springboard always makes me very happy. My kids and their friends always jump in different ways, making faces and all that, pretending they are zombies, or soldiers, or bombs. I always try to take the shots looking up, so no buildings or anything else appears in frame. It's difficult, especially with the palm trees, but sometimes palm trees and the springboard are nice details."

"This pic was taken last month, it was a hot and humid day, my friend Butch and I went to visit my mother in the Bronx. As we drove around, we saw lots of fire hydrants open and children playing, I couldn't resist and I decided to get in the water and snap away. Because it was not my neighborhood i was trying to be discreet and careful not to get caught."

"I took this photo in a narrow, isolated street in Balat, Istanbul. At first I heard a melody and while I was looking for the source of it, I looked up and saw him. He was listening to the music loudly so that everyone in the street could hear it. It was a Turkish folk song, a very deep and melancholic composition. Perhaps he was in a depressive mood but didn't hesitate to give me a smile."

"This year my son celebrated his graduation. Everyone dressed up for the event and there were lots of nice looking young people hanging around. As I was just sitting around, I couldn't resist shooting the legs of people passing by. Some of them came out great with the D-Type film."
