He has an amazing eye and an ability to catch quirky details that when combined with excellent framing makes for a very large number of highly compelling photos. When you add to this fantastic ability to see photos with his high skill level in using various combos, it creates a very impressive package indeed. His black and white work in the Monochrome Combos category along with his photos in the Street Photography Combos highlight his extraordinary talent in my eye. This along with other very strong submissions make him worthy of a special judge’s mention."

"Ce combo est assez proche de celui qui associe John S et US1776. L'objectif Akira produit certains des effets de John S (mais en moins intenses) avec notamment une forte saturation dans les coins; il donne de très bons résultats avec US1776, un film naturellement lumineux. Ce n'est pas mon combo noir/blanc préféré mais on peut le comparer à certains classiques comme le John S/US1776 ou le G2/US1776. Dans l'ensemble, Akira donnera de bons résultats par temps couvert et c'est donc un combo qui conviendra lorsque l'on est en présence d'un éclairage naturel assez varié."
