"These pictures were taken on a skiing trip at the world’s largest ski resort, the Dolomiti Superski, in the Italian Dolomite Alps. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site, with stone cliffs made of Dolomia, which tinge a subtle shade of red at sunset. There are about 1200 km of pistes and more than 450 skilifts and gondolas that connect twelve different ski resorts, in the Italian regions of Trento, Alto Adige and Venezia. We did the so-called "Sellaronda“ tour, which takes all day without ever skiing the same piste twice. The snow and weather were just perfect and it was a pleasure to shoot these characteristic and beautiful peaks, as well a few picture-perfect situations in the village Campitello (province of Trento) prior to the departure of the bus that took me home. The atmospheric, and somehow dramatic and painterly film and lens combo, Love 81/Florence, has turned out to be one of my two favourites over the past few months; I use it in all kinds of settings. I love what it does with skies and found that it highlights the texture of the rocks."
