"I have to admit I have a soft spot for desolate landscapes and lonely silhouettes, because they allow me to express something akin to solitude and melancholy, especially poignant during these times of disconnect. I wanted to take advantage of the multiple possibilities that Hipstamatic offers, to create a combo that would reflect colors and textures that emanate a slight feeling of loss, but that was also able to hold up under cloudy skies, as well as a sunset. Here, the colors of Robusta are diminished by Florence's pale tints and a slight loss of sparkle, only ever so slightly darkened by Jolly Rainbo 2X, and a bit textured to soften the angles. In my opinion, this kind of minor-mode photography is a huge help in expressing what I'm trying to say."
