The Hipstography Awards 2014 – The Ceremony

By on February 8, 2015

From Snap Magazine to Connie Gardner Rosenthal
for her portfolio "India through my iPhone"

Concerning her portfolio: "The ability to capture the soul of a country by documenting its people can be a bit challenging but Connie Gardner Rosenthal has done such an incredible job of showing us sweet, mundane moments with genuine emotion. Her portraits of people in an unfamiliar location are really exquisite and for that we wanted to honor her with the Snap Award."

"Most of these photographs were taken during an iPhone workshop with the talented, intuitive and amazing teacher Karen Divine. Four other women and I were led by Karen on visits to old and new Delhi, Rohet Garh and Narlai outside of Jodphur, the holy city of Varanasi, and the Taj Mahal. Guiding us collectively and individually to capture our experience through our iPhones we each gained a beautiful perspective on the people, their culture and their way of life. We were welcomed in homes, joined a wedding celebration, visited markets and festivals, capturing images that will forever tell a story of this amazing journey."
